DISTRIBUTION OF DRIED FOOD PARCELS IN STATES OF EMERGENCY

Over the past four years, as the Northern and Eastern Provinces have been devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic, widespread flooding, and the recent nationwide economic crisis, we have been able to donate over 10,000 parcels of dried food to needy families in the region.

IMPROVING SELF-SUFFICIENCY OF WOMEN-HEADED FAMILIES

To help families provide for themselves, we have provided dozens of chicken coops, cows, goats, and sewing machines to women-headed families that they can use to provide food and clothing for themselves and sell to others to generate a source of income.

HELPING CHILDREN GET THROUGH SCHOOL

As the ongoing economic crisis has led to families being unable to afford sending their children to school, the Aanmeega Arakaddalai have helped sponsor the cost of education for needy children, and has also paid for transportation of students in rural areas to and from school, school supplies for primary school students, and laptop computers for university students.

COMBATTING THE ONGOING DRUG AND ALCOHOL CRISIS

As alcoholism and drug addiction are spreading throughout the country, we have launched a drug awareness campaign targeted at children, providing them and their families with coconut seedlings that they can plant in their homes as a way of "planting the seed" in their minds against using drugs and alcohol.

As Sri Lanka struggles to overcome major religious and cultural divides, we have united religious leaders from all faiths in Sri Lanka to join in our efforts to best serve the people of our country regardless of faith.

HELPING INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS

With a lack of protections and services available for individuals with special needs in Sri Lanka and limited support for their families that care for them, we have provided wheelchairs as well as financial assistance with transportation and other caretaking expenses for needy families.
